The relevance of the study of dialects of territories of late settlement is determined
by the peculiarities of their formation, functioning and preservation in the conditions of inter-dialect
and inter-language contacts. In this regard, the Orenburg Russian dialects, which take shape in the
unique linguistic situation of the interaction of different-time resettlement waves from the provinces
of the European part of the Russian Empire with the Turkic and Fino-Ugric peoples for more than
250 years, remain insufficiently explored. However, the materials published in 2005-2019 based on
the records of the 50-70s of the XX century allow us to consider various aspects of the study of
resettlement dialect systems, among which the problem of Russian-Kazakh language contacts as the
most significant in the linguistic and cultural plan stands out. The analysis of Kazakh borrowings
made it possible to determine the thematic groups of borrowed vocabulary, identify the mechanisms
for its entry and adaptation in Orenburg Russian dialects, determine the features of the relationship
with native correspondences and reveal the potential opportunities realized in a genetically alien
dialect system.
